This is a comprehensive list of cheats, secrets and a list of level passwords, including something extra I found out for myself when playing this game.

Cheats

Level select:

Highlight the "Options" selection at the title screen and press Start. Press L, R, Start, Select, X, Y, A, B on controller two. A chime will confirm correct code entry. A level select option will appear above the start option on the title screen. Hold L + R and press Up or Down to select the level, and Left or Right to select the section.

Tricks & Secrets

Always extra lives on the genie wheel :

Press the B button as fast as soon as you see the genie blink, if you are fast enough, you will usually always get 1 or 2 extra lives.

Bonus ending:

Successfully complete the game with over 51 red gems to view a special ending, which is Aladdin shown going through all the stages, instead of the carpet ride.

Extended ending:

This is the one I found out by increasing the emulation speed, but if you wait for around 10 minutes at the ending screen, fireworks will start exploding. There is nothing else after this extension. Kind of pointless I guess, but unique in a sense that I was the only person that was interested in seeing what happened.
