There's a lot various help general help topics featured on the official site's Hints & TipsOffsite Link section. This is more of an expanded look into some stuff that I personally use to strengthen my gameplay and defense.

First off, I think I found the best outer wall defense. It involves placing turrets in areas where the antlions can't get at them. It takes a bit of practice, and also a bit of skill. You know the windows at the top of the walls? You can actually place turrets on top of them, in between the legs of the turret itself. The antlions will almost never be able to take these down (depending where on the window it is, and how secure). By grabbing a turret, looking directly up, walking until the turret begins hitting the window, then jumping forward a little bit, release the turret, and it should be on top. Again, this takes some skill and practice.

TA-DA! It may also be easier to stand on a combine's head while placing. You may also use this trick to place on the outer door (even though it falls eventually). To spice things up a little bit, I also like to battle outside the base with a turret when the antlions start to spawn.

This shows my turrets still standing in the front blasting away at the antlions before they even get a chance.

Antlion Troopers Deuce strategy
Here I use a couple turrets from the last outpost to help shoot the incoming antlions. I also leave some turrets in the front using my strategy mentioned already.

Antlion Troopers Deuce strategy
Basically in this one, I just place all the turrets up front (some from last outpost). Sometimes I place facing the other way to help kill the giant antlion that appears during slow motion. I also make sure the commander is out of the way of the falling roof and out of danger's way. Also watch out of for grenades that the shotgunner's like to throw, sometimes they will backfire in a big way.
