Let's get this straight, at 11 megabytes I wasn't expecting much of a modification, but for me to consider this a mod would be stupid. I am not sure why this was released as a mod. The Lost City could have most definitely just been released as a set of maps, and not a whole mod. In fact there is only two maps included, one of which is very short, and very bare. The whole thing could have been done in one map, even though it is pretty choppy already because of the size of the first map.
Even though I already explained my dislike for this mod, I will go even further and explain about how poor this modification actually is. Like some lesser known single player HL2 mods such as The Island this mod also includes the un-named weapon titles. So weapons appear in your HUD as things like "#HL2_Pistol". It's not at all hard to fix little annoyances like these, yet people can't seem to figure it out when publishing a mod for the public. Like I was saying, the first map is very large, and therefore; your frames per second will probably be fairly low depending your computer. The map design itself is almost the only thing I can really recommend about this mod. The urban street setting is fairly well done.
To rack up even more bad points about this mod, I can also mention that the AI is very weak, as the waypoints are poorly placed. Some of the enemies don't even move or respond. You're friend's voice at the beginning of the game doesn't even match the character sometimes. There's a very abrupt ending. The game displays "The End" and leaves you at the black screen until you quit, it doesn't even physically end.
