A Frayed Stitch in Time ingame When A Frayed Stitch in Time begins you are directed through an introductory scene that in my opinion is very nice and fluidic and sets the mood for the entire game. The only problem I have with it, is that, it's way too long, and generally lacking in detail in model movements (Dr. Kleiner). The mood that was being set in the introduction was something very weird, very bizarre and strange. This theme echoed through the entire mod. There's huge vast open spaces, empty rooms, repetition of objects, items, symbolsImage Link, and rooms adding to that element of the unknown. This all added to create a very eerie feeling to the mod; however, this was all ruined by some elements that were added. The music that was included (from Half-Life 2 soundtrack) did not match at all with the feeling I was getting when playing this mod. I would have loved to hear some more ambient, darker, atmospheric sounds and music instead of the up-beat techno music that was used.

Another thing that ruined the feeling for me was the introduction of Alyx and the lack of voice acting. Nothing is more unprofessional to me than adding Half-Life 2 characters and having captions of speech. Lots of mods do this which is why I dislike it so much. It's so uninspiring and dead. This mod had everything going for it, and then with the inclusion of the Half-Life 2 elements, like the music and characters it was basically ruined for me. Which makes me believe that everything that I felt with this mod was accidental. This then means that the map design and the story was quite amateurish.

Maybe i'm just too stuck on comparing this to MINERVA: Metastasis, another episodic Half-Life 2 mod because I get some of the same feeling playing it. Overall this mod served its purpose of entertainment, I just hope to see more work done on the next episode, or maybe to re-look certain elements in this one. BelbozMail Link is planning to release four episodes to this mod, a pretty ambitious goal.
